A beautiful morning to be social and head south to the Whistle Stop for a coffee and a bit of grub.
This ride was led today by Andrew Nash accompanied by Greg Hockey, Cathy Hockey and Paul Beeby. Special mention to the mechanic Mr Hockey who helped another group and then fixed a flat belonging to Mrs Hockey on the home stretch.

Tweed Enduro

Race report

The Tweed Enduro set in the town of Pottsville would have to be one of the best locations for a triathlon in our region. The water is crystal clear and the location is relatively flat.

For a few members this was our first long course/70.3/half Ironman distance in some time. A lot of extra training was done in order to prepare our bodies for what is a grueling distance to mere mortals. Although for some of our members it was a super fast race but they are unusually fit and thin and this race report is not about them. This race report is about us old broken athletes.

The swim being  although being 1900m is a very easy swim as it is with the tide and the water is just magic. For myself I felt great in the water until right at the end when a blue bottle went across my face. Lucky it was at the end and it was only a short run to transition where some cold water put the pain at ease.
